Tokyo Seimitsu Co., Ltd. (the Company) held a “Sustainable Procurement Session for suppliers” at its Furudono plant (Furudono-machi, Ishikawa-gun, Fukushima) on Thursday, August 22, for suppliers concerned with its charge/discharge testing system business.
In 2023, the Company took over the business of Accretech Powertro System Co., Ltd., one of its consolidated subsidiaries, which had been engaged in the development, manufacturing, and sale of charge/discharge testing systems. And, in order to meet the demands of society on supply chains, the session provided the suppliers intending to continue business with the Company with an opportunity to understand its efforts regarding sustainable procurement.
At the session, the Company explained to the suppliers about its electronic transaction system (ACCRETECH Web-EDI System), environmental policy, control of chemical substances contained in products, and sustainability activities. The Company also asked for the understanding and cooperation of the suppliers with regard to the registration with the electronic transaction system, the cloud service-based survey on chemical substances contained in products, human rights due diligence, CSR (corporate social responsibility), and the information security questionnaire.
In addition, the Company asked the suppliers to sign the basic transaction agreement, which includes clauses requiring that they make efforts to comply with its standards (CSR guideline, information security standards, and green procurement standards). The Company established one of these standards - the green procurement standards in April 2024, based on the green procurement guideline created in 2003, in order to respond to the recently revised laws of the relevant countries as well as to the industry trends.
The Company will continue to value its relationships with the suppliers and push forward efforts to develop sustainable supply chains.
