"Responsible Mineral Procurement Policy" Established

2026-10-30

Tokyo Seimitsu established the "Responsible Mineral Procurement Policy".

There is a concern that minerals mined in conflict-affected and high-risk areas such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and adjoining countries, may be used to provide support to armed groups and lead to human rights abuses. To fulfill our social responsibilities, we pursue the responsible procurement of minerals by strengthening cooperation with our suppliers and conducting surveys of minerals across our supply chain.

Tokyo Seimitsu pursues the responsible procurement of minerals (especially gold, tin, tantalum, tungsten, and cobalt) to prevent any involvement in support to armed groups, human rights abuses, and/or environmental destruction in conflict-affected and high-risk areas.

To ensure responsible mineral procurement, we conduct surveys of minerals with reference to the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. Should any serious risks, such as support to armed groups and/or human rights abuses, be identified in the supply chain, we will implement appropriate actions to mitigate those risks.
